# International Firefighters’ Day – Thank You to Our Volunteers
Today, May 4, 2026, we recognize International Firefighters’ Day and take a moment to thank firefighters everywhere for their dedication, sacrifice, and service to their communities.
The Wayne Hose Company #1 is proud to serve the Town of Stony Point as a volunteer fire department made up of dedicated members from throughout our community. Day and night, our volunteers respond to emergencies, train regularly, support community events, and work together to help protect the lives and property of our residents and visitors.
International Firefighters’ Day is an opportunity to recognize the commitment and courage of those who answer the call whenever help is needed. From emergency incidents and training drills to public education and community outreach, firefighters play an important role in keeping our community safe.
We would also like to thank the families, employers, and supporters who stand behind our volunteers and help make their service possible.
